Media: ink, watercolor
This is an anatomically inaccurate drawing of a lynx. For this assignment we had to select an animal. We then used the culture associated with the area to which that animal is native, its habitat, and its diet to create patterns and designs on our animals. For my lynx, I used Native American cultural designs found in pottery and fabrics. Then I incorporated some fish and birds into the designs. Anything can be a design if it is used repeatedly (three or more times). Because the lynx looked like it was looking up at something, I filled the sky with a moon and some stars.
To actually make the picture, I used one of those old pens that you have to dip in a tiny little container of ink. I diluted some the ink with water to make watercolors. I used the water color to add in additional value.
